Original Chicago Boogie and Funky New Orleans Rumba

Bluesman Dan

Bluesman Dan has been a professional musician since he left high school and his mother still wants to know when he is going to get a job. Since he is the 3rd of 6 kids, he figures performing on stage for a living is cheaper than psychotherapy.

At one time or another, he has written and performed music for A&E, Comedy Central, and FOX-TV. He was Music Director at The Second City for 10 years where he received his Masters Degree in Comedy. He has never met a microphone he doesn’t like and he has more fun on stage than is legally allowed by law.

So, remove ALL the batteries in your smoke detectors, untie your shoelaces and get all the chairs out of the way. Foot stompin’ original boogie and blues and funky New Orleans rumba performed right now at your club or festival.

I’ve got a chance to record with a Grammy winning producer

I need your help. Will you please donate to my next CD?

The producer I want to work with won a Grammy for his work on a Pinetop Perkins CD. ‘Top” was Muddy Waters piano player for many years and a great influence on me.

Just a little warning, this will be NOT just a blues CD. It will include some rock and jazz influences. But basically I took the story telling that I love so much and I wrote some songs that I want to share with you. I know it seems kind of weird to ask you for money.

I have discovered in my ripe old age out that it is okay to ask for help — and to ACCEPT help.

Besides, I figure I’m only going to get one of two answers, right?

This project will only be funded if at least $19,320 is pledged by Sunday May 13, 11:04pm CDT. So basically, if you donate and we don’t reach our goal, then you all get your money back. So we have a very short amount of time to get this project funded. I am very excited about it. We have some stellar musicians lined up to record with me. I mean exquisitely stellar musicians, singers, artists and performers. You will be VERY pleased with the results.

If for some reason you are unable to donate, I understand. Believe me I understand. Whether you can or can not, what I would love for you to do is to Share this with all of your friends on FB. Anyone who donates gets a special thank you in the liner notes. And you get some really great rewards based on the amount you are able to pledge.

So please take a look at this video. Amber and I had a lot of fun making it. And then after you pledge, please pass this on to all the folks you can think of starting with your Facebook Friends.

Thanks and we’ll see you on the other side. Now go take a look at this video ===> Click HERE

I Love The River

I love traveling around the country playing piano. This week I am in Rock Island IL. No there are no palm trees on this island.

Nestled on the Mississippi River this town has a rich river town history. Blues piano is only one part of this.

Blues Video

Sorry about that sideways video. If anyone knows how to turn it let know. Like I said I’m
Still learning this new phone

Blues Piano Music in A Supermarket

Okay how’s everybody doing?

I got a new toy last week. I’m a truly technological blues piano player. I know that sound like a contradiction in terms but it’s all true.

So I got this new iPhone and I’m still learning how to use it. And I for a gig playing piano music at a supermarket. I mean a gigs a gig right. And my friend sax man bill Hilton walks and I think well let’s give tech toy a whirl. So I say “Shoot”. And I hand over my phone to him and this is what he came up with.

Only in Chicago can I get a gig like tho and get away with it.

Oh and btw that woman on the bench behind me is my Mom. She’s still my biggest fan. I mean c’mon she paid for the piano lessons.

Blues in Havana

I’m heading down to Havana today to do a gig Havana IL. I doubt it’s 80 degrees down there. We got 9″ of snow in chicago yesterday.

I’ll be doing a show with a good guy named Tommy Orr out of Kalamazoo MI. We’ll be at the Stag Tap starting around 830. Tickets are $15 You’re guaranteed to have some fun some laughs and to her some great live music. Two pianos. Two great entertainers.

See you there?
